In their effort to stop the Democrats from passing the health care bill via reconciliation, the GOP is portraying the Senate parliamentarian as liberal.  But there is a problem with using that accusation.  Alan Frumin, the current parliamentarian, was appointed by the Republican majority because the previous one objected to allowing the Republicans passing the Bush tax cuts through a reconciliation bill.
